Intriguing Youtube Comment

As I was browsing reggae on youtube, I stumbled across the Vanity 5 song from Give 'Em the Boot II and this comment:

It would be great if more Vanity 5 stuff saw the light of day. I had no idea such a treasure trove existed.

I spoke with Jason about this last year. Scott Abels has a ton of stuff recorded under the Vanity 5 / Phoenicians name. Basically the bands were broken down like this: Vanity 5 was Scott Abels on drums, Dave Fuentes on bass, Aaron Owens on lead guitar, Deston Berry on piano/organ, and me (Lino Trujillo) on rhythm guitar. The Phoenicians were the same as Vanity 5 except Matt Parker replaced Deston, and Brian Dixon replaced me , although later on I came back and replaced Brian.
We had other people come in and do sessions with us too like Zack and Dan from the Sand Dollars, Mark Quan from the Rhythm Doctors, Jesse and Roger from the Aggrolites and Salina Cano from the Vessels to name a few. 99% of the stuff we did was original, and was done in 2the or 3 takes. Scott doesn't have any serious plans of releasing the recordings, but we've talked about it with Aaron Owens, and I think he talked to Miguel from Skunk about possibly releasing some of it, it's just a matter of leaning on Scott to get it done. Asp if anyone wants to hear this stuff, friend Scott on FB, and bug him until he does it. I'm just kidding, don't really do that, but seriously, do it.
