Will the VIP tickets be "general admission" in the sense that as long as you buy a VIP ticket, you can sit anywhere in that area?

I know it might be hard to say, but do you think the show will run past midnight? Just curious for making some plans.

Thanks

El Rey Sunday

Postby akska » Wed Oct 17, 2007 11:20 am

El Rey Sunday night. One from Ak.
And a question...I've found that I can double the use of a rental vehicle as both transportation and housing. Last Hepcat 'tour' it worked well from Ponoma, Slims? and back to Malibu. One night at a Hotel. Sleeping bag in a minivan works fine by me and some of the cheapo hotels I would end up staying at are not a big step from that!
Question: El Rey area, what kinda neighborhood is it? I'll have time to check it out and study up a good 'RVing' spot before the show Sunday but right now I'm blind. I hope it ain't grande ritzy or for that matter bunch o'slum. Would appreciate any info and advice on the practicality of not being hassled Sunday night into Monday morning(not late just enough to 'rest up' from the show) in a parking spot withing walking(up to a mile or two) distance of the El Rey.

Mid-Wilshire is not parking friendly, it is a business area and I believe most of the residential area is permit parking only. Due to the time of the show I bet you could find a spot to park a van (but not an RV) on the street without having to worry about meters or permits, so long as you leave by a certain time Monday morning. LA parking sucks, but Sunday parking is usually easier.

I've found out the hard way that there are areas in LA that have restrictions that you can't park on the street after 2am without a window sticker that says you're a resident. If worse comes to worse, I could tell you how to get to where I live, because my street is OK all night. It's about 15 min from the club.
